Decoding the matrix etchings on the runout of the vinyl
Have you ever wondered what matrix letters and numbers are all about?

E4-1096-A-1A-2HZ and E4-1096-B-1A-2HZ for this release

E4-1096 is the record labels catalogue number which identifies all releases with an individual assigned code.
A/B indicates which is the A-side and B-side of the record.
1A refers to the lacquer cutting source, this time it is indicating that this is the very first cut to make the metal stampers for pressing the vinyl.
2HZ the number 2 is an indication that this record was pressed using a 2 step electroplating process and the HZ is the identification of the pressing plant, this being the Columbia Records Pressing Plant in Don Mills, Ontario, Canada (suburb of Toronto - the building was demolished in 2016).
