  Interview - Part 1 | Interview - Part 2 |Interview - Part 3

Who did you and Mel Gaynor (from Simple Minds) produce and was it ever released?

Smutty Smith, yes it was released I can't remember what happened to it.

You have said in a previous interview (in Slapdash Eden Fanzine) that CBS didn't like you and Adam. What was it that they didn't like about the two of you?

We kept wanting to be paid; all record companies hate that.

Would you like to know what my fave albums of the moment are? Well I'll tell you anyway.

Bloodhound Gang /Hooray for Boobies

  • Missy Elliot /Da Real Thing
  • Rob Zombie/American music to strip by or just anything he does really.
  • Nashville Pussy/Let them eat pussy
  • Death in Vegas/Dirge
  • Chicks on Speed/Will save us all
  • Fight Club sound track/Dust brothers
  • Iggy Pop/Nuggets
  • Primal Scream/Exterminator

With the whole 80's revival thing happening, there have been rumors floating around that Adam and the Ants would reform in future. Do you think that it would be a good idea? Would you be interested in this and want to take part in a reunion?

Apart from generating vast amounts of money, I can't really see what an Ants reunion would achieve. I think I would find it hard very hard to get excited about the prospect but I would love to work with Chris Hughes again, as he makes me laugh (and he's not a bad producer either) As far as the five of us ever getting on a stage again, my answer would be NEIN,NYET,NON and no bloody way. *

FINITO MUCHACHOS.

So there you have it! What will the future of Antmusic hold? Only time with tell. Check out info on one of Marco's latest project BigX.

Special thanks to Rob Lesman, Karen S, Michael, Icehouse, Mary S, and the countless members of the antmusic mailing list and AntRap supporters. Apologies to all who did not get their questions answered. Thanks to Formicula for use of the KRBE pic. If I have used your photo without permission, my apologies. Please contact me so I can provide you with a photo credit.

A BIG THANK YOU TO MARCO - I wish him peace, happiness and the world at his feet.

Marco Pirroni Facts

Date of Birth: April 27, 1959 in London, England

Marco appeared with Siouxsie and the Banshees at their first concert September 20, 1976, with Sid Vicious on drums! They played a 20 minute version of the "Lords Prayer", waiting to get thrown off the stage but they never did.

He formed THE MODELS with Terry Lee Miall and they released one single entitled "Man of the Year/Freeze." Later, he was a key player in the band REMA REMA who released and EP entitled 'Wheel in the Roses.'

Marco teamed up with Adam in 1980 to form the Ants. Once the Ant disbanded, Marco continued to work with Adam up until the 1995 release of Wonderful. Hopefully new stuff is in the works.

Marco has also worked with Sinead O'Connor regularly over the years, appearing as guitarist on featured songs "Fire on Babylon", her rendition of Nirvana's "All Apologies", and "The Emperor's New Clothes'. Marco also assisted Kevin Mooney, former Ant member, with his various projects.
